Club Wellbeing Team

MISSION STATEMENT & TEAM MEMBERS

The Club Wellbeing Team is an initiative that aims to provide support for those who are experiencing mental health issues and need a confidential ear to listen and direct to appropriate services. The team has been specifically trained to identify signs and symptoms that someone may be struggling and ready to have conversations as a way of destigmatising mental health issues. The team understands the important role the club can play in that immediate low-level support and have been trained to support individuals through 3 levels on intervention. These consist of:

  1. Supporting the individual through the CWT
  2. Connecting the person with someone responsible and caring within their own family / friendship group outside the club
  3. Referring to a health specialist in the wider community

The Club Wellbeing Team consists of a range of people across the club who are approachable and available to everyone in the club. They watch Clubmates, build relationships, and help facilitate a healthy and supportive community. These people are not trained counsellors, but want to support the Club in creating and maintaining that environment of being a safe space of care and connection.

Our Team Members: Left to Right

Ginger Parker, Jamie Henaghen, Rachel Stewart, John Caine, Georgia Dixon, Matt Crosling – Team Leader – 0414 467 971, Emma Smith. Absent - Leah Sutcliffe

The Club Wellbeing Team (CWT) would like to invite any of our Club community to make contact with us, if the need arises. It might be you who needs a supportive confidential chat. It might be someone you suspect may have a little more going on.

“Here if you need”

“Approachable people”

“Safe”

(Confidential, Supportive, Health focused)

We care about players, officials, members, and families in the MFNC community.

As we have just finished the 2024 Season, many of you may not catch up with your teams until pre-season training or even next year. This is why we need to make sure you have support, in a safe and confidential space, with the CWT. Don't hesitate to contact us clubwellbeing@morningtonfnc.com.au or 0414 467 971.

For like-minded people - sharing and supporting, check out Safe Space @Commonfolk Mornington – 7pm Wednesdays.

Good luck, stay safe and be there for your mates. The strength of our relationships is what makes us a truly great club.
